Someone has probably already started one but I wanted one for my own personal records. I will be updating this entry as I find out about more series... I also wanted to add (and state the obvious) also check your local book store or comic book store if you are looking to complete your collections... I missed the boat with Basara - one of my local comic book stores had the elusive volumes but by the time I learned of their limited availability...the owner had sold the volumes on ebay.

The out of date listing by Tokyo Pop...I suppose a partial OFFICIAL LISTING is better than no list at all... (insert swear words here)

Basara (27): 19, 20 - I recently bit the bullet and bought the hard to find volumes... to the tune of $200... Although it was my decision I still plan on complaining to Viz... I can sort of understand deciding not to reprint because it is like throwing money into a money pit but it seemed like the print runs for these volumes were smaller than the other twenty-five volumes in the series...

Midori Days (8): 2, 3 - Learned about this from my local comic book store and confirmed via amazon.com.

Red River (28): Heard from a source that Viz would be putting this series out of print but will probably try to get confirmation from a second source.

Tramps Like Us (14): At amazon.com volumes 2, 4, 12 and 13 are only available used. At indigo.ca volumes 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 are only available used.

Youka Nitta's back list. (Before the tracing scandal Central Park Media [before the company went bankrupt] and Libre were not seeing eye to eye about the publication of Youka Nitta's work in english either...) The reason is posted here.

Chocolat (8) and Honey Mustard (4): These Korean manhwa series were cancelled by their publishing companies in Korea... (insert more swear words here) The major reason excuse I have for not attempting to read more Korean series...

Nosatsu Junkie (16): According to mangaupdates.com and also reported on at animenewsnetwork.com this interesting series is stalling at volume six with publisher Tokyo Pop.

Yubisaki Milk Tea (7), Neon Genesis Evangelion (12), and Descendents of Darkness (12) are on hiatus in Japan. Mangaupdates.com was my first souce, and for the latter also wikipedia.org.

D. Gray Man [13 volumes at the moment have been released by Viz in North America; and 18 volumes in Japan] My first source is mangaupdates.com, and I also verified with wikipedia.org. The previous hiatus was due to artist's injuring their wrist.

Lone Wolf and Cub (28) Some volumes of this series have a "not in stock" or "buy only used" status at amazon.com. At indigo.ca volumes 12, 16, 23, 24 and 27 are temporarily unavailable to order.

Akira Some volumes also have "buy only used" status at amazon.com and indigo.ca but fret not!!! A new edition is being released later this year... A manga classic with the epic scope of Akira does not go gently into the good night...

Never Give Up! (13):According to mangaupdates.com (which will now be referred to as Baka-Updates Manga because the links I give is usually for a particular series...) Tokyo Pop has decided to stop publishing the series at eight volumes.

To be listed in the entry about October's reading list I read all four short stories from Hot for the Holidays; and three of four short stories from Must Love Hellhounds.  In giving in to temptation I have, with not much of a fight, added three more authors to my list...  T_T (If music was playing I would think 'Don't cry for me Argentina' would be appropriate.) Anya Bast and Allyson James lauched new series with Hot for the Holidays (With Bast, the world of the humans is currently sharing space with the fae; and with James, the world of Changers with a dash of Native Indian Shamanism is explored.) anthology, and Ilona Andrews added the fourth installment to her Kate Daniels' series with the short story, "Mourn Magic". Thus I am now looking forward to the following:

I tried to put my last review under a cut and failed absolutely fabulously!!! so I am using the pretty book covers for coverage...

As I mentioned earlier last month I am a sucker for a good or even semi-good catchline... "What if Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf turned out to be the same person?" is the question asked on the back cover of Red by Jordan Summers; and I decided to take a chance and find out for myself.  To give a semi-general summary: the world went to war and let's just say not everyone bit the dust. Although, unfortunately, Mother Nature took one heck of a beating. Instead of countries we now have independent republics (And woohoo! At least one Canadian province, Ontario, survived the military fireworks.) where it is required to register your identity...  An international police and security force, International Police Tactical Team was established to ensure population control and other legal matters are taken of care; and our heroine Gina "Red" Santiago is a member who after finding the body of a horribly mauled murder victim - wants to find justice for her. To backtrack a little, Red is Gina's nickname because unfortunately, there has been a trend when Gina encounters unknown individuals they usually end up dead instead of apprehended; and thus the majority of the other tactical team members do not like working with her. Red is a solitary woman, but has a loving grandfather and a "chirpy" wrist navicom unit named Rita. Her parents and younger sister died when Red was a young girl. However her belief and commitment to law and order is staunch and firm. Therefore heading out from the dome where IPTT is located (formerly northern Montana and Alberta, Canada) to the border town of Nuria, on her vacation time no less, Red begins the murder investigation that will change her life. For the town of Nuria has secrets of its own and one murder victim also horribly mauled; with the sheriff Morgan Hunter wanting to keep it under wraps and find the killer himself without attracting the notice of the republics or IPTT.  The tactical team member and the sheriff also have immediate chemistry (cough cough erotic dream cough cough) despite the fact the professional and personal agendas are in conflict...  Unfortunately, more murder victims with the same M.O. are found, a politician's schemes for world domination are already in motion, and did I mention Red is about to discover the secrets of her past; that her grandfather tried to bury but our sexy sheriff is already aware of one them?  Needless to say, there is enough romance, suspense, mystery and a scene to two of comic relief (Kane and Morgan are cousins, and both take a liking to our heroine Red... The scene when Morgan takes Red out for dinner and Kane shows up is funny!)  to keep you hooked and of course Ms. Summers is kind enough to let the reader in on the secret of the identity of our lady killer before the end of the story. I will admit I stayed up all night to finish the first book in the series and the third book Crimson, to be released in november, sounds interesting/exciting!  However, it is the second book I am having trouble reading.  Almost two thirds of the way through, but my emotional radar is already broken with all the excitement from Scarlet; and like with Edge of Hunger I am ready to tear all my remaining hair out in frustration...

Shy Intentions

While surfing at http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk I found out Harlequin's Hush mini series has had two additions since I have stopped buying Harlequin new, with the exception of the lovely Brenda Jackson... Since indigo.ca has already sold out, I am going to hit a local second hand book store in my area that I have not visited in ages - The Paperback Exchange. Quaint name if I do say so myself.

Also was turned on to Jordan Summers paranormal series - while looking up Harlequin Blaze authors at fantasticfiction's website and decided to pick up the first one, Red. I know I have five mountains of books to read but could not resist adding another one to the stack... I am such a sucker for catchlines: "What if Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf turned out to be the same person?"
